Why go
The original JB breakfast institution — a 1946 Hainanese kopitiam a short walk from the CIQ. The signatures: fried chicken chop, charcoal kaya-butter toast, soft-boiled eggs and kopi.
Go early, and aim for the upstairs verandah seats — they're the charm. Saturday queues hit ~20 minutes by 9:30am.
Go off-peak
2025 Google reviews note rising waits (30–50 min) and service grumbles versus pre-2020. Still good — just go off-peak.
